Release Notes – September 2026

SafeBase's Sept 2026 release adds self-service SSO, Salesforce portal-link submissions, AI question routing, and multi-product AIQA

Table of Contents

SafeBase Accounts Can Now Disconnect Their Slack & Teams Users

What's New

  • A new Integrations section on the Profile & Preferences page shows each Slack and Teams account that a user linked to SafeBase.

  • Users can now select Disconnect to remove a linked account themselves, without intervention from Support or their org admin.

  • Bonus: the org members table in Settings now shows a Slack or Teams icon next to each member who has a linked account, so admins can see at a glance who can get notifications in those apps.

Rich Text Editor for SafeBase Trust Centers

A new Markdown / Rich text toggle now sits above the text editor. You can change between the two modes at any time, and content is preserved between toggles.

The rich text editor is available in:

  • Trust Center Updates, when creating an update or editing a topic

  • Item explanations on Trust Center cards

  • The custom Trust Center footer

  • The toolbar supports bold, italic, strikethrough, three heading levels, bullet lists, numbered lists, task lists, blockquotes, horizontal rules, links, and images/video.

Notes

  • The editor opens in Markdown mode by default. Select "Rich text" to switch modes.

  • The rich text editor can't create new tables yet, but it can edit existing tables. A warning appears when switching to rich text on content that already has a table.

  • Both editors save in Markdown. Existing content doesn't change, and you can toggle back without risk.

SafeBase Self-Service SAML SSO

Customers can now configure SAML single sign-on for SafeBase without opening a support ticket. Org admins upload their identity provider's metadata, map the domain, verify the connection, and turn it on — all from their org's security settings.

What's New

  • Configure SAML SSO directly from Settings → User Management & Authentication, guided by a step-by-step setup assistant.

  • Rotate certificates and update your identity provider configuration at any time, without contacting SafeBase support.

Important Note: This is not applicable if you authenticate via Drata. This self-service SAML setup is for SafeBase-native accounts only. If your organization signs in to SafeBase through Drata, this feature does not apply to you — you'll continue authenticating through Drata as usual.

SafeBase for Salesforce v1.28: Portal Link Submissions & Due Dates

SafeBase for Salesforce v1.28 adds two ways to get questionnaires into SafeBase faster. Reps can now submit a questionnaire that lives in a customer's portal by pasting the portal link — no downloading, re-uploading, or copying questions by hand. They can also set an optional due date when submitting a questionnaire (file or link), so the team knows when a response is needed as soon as it lands in SafeBase.

What's New

  • Portal Link submissions: Submit a questionnaire to SafeBase by pasting the link to the customer's portal, instead of downloading and re-uploading it.

  • Due Dates: Set an optional due date when submitting a questionnaire (file or link), so deadlines travel with the request from the moment it lands in SafeBase.

Notes

  • Requires the SafeBase managed package v1.28 or later. Salesforce admins can upgrade using the install/migration guide.

Question Classification and Subject Matter Expert Assignment is now in Early Access

Question Classification and Subject Matter Expert Assignment helps Assurance teams route security questionnaire questions with less manual coordination. AI Questionnaire Assistance classifies questions by configured Subject Areas, then recommends or assigns SMEs based on the organization's workflow. SMEs get periodic reminders to review their assigned questions, or can use My Questions to find questionnaires that need their input and mark responses "Ready for Review" when they're ready for owner approval.

What's New

  • Classify questions: AI Questionnaire Assistance maps questions to configured Subject Areas, including questions that span multiple topics.

  • Route to SMEs: Review AI-recommended assignments before they go out, or let AIQA route questions directly to designated primary contacts.

  • Keep responses moving: Reminders go out daily for unanswered questions when a questionnaire is due within a week, and weekly when the due date is farther out.

  • Signal readiness: SMEs can mark responses "Ready for Review" so questionnaire owners know when to review and approve.

  • Track incoming work: SMEs can use My Questions to see which questionnaires need their input.

Notes

  • Available now in Early Access.

  • SMEs need access to edit questionnaires to answer directly, or at minimum view access to respond in a question's messages tab.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does AI Questionnaire Assistance assign questions to SMEs?

A: It classifies questions against configured Subject Areas and recommends or assigns the designated SMEs. People working in the Questionnaire can review, correct, or change assignments as needed.

Q: What must be configured first?

A: Organizations need to configure Subject Areas, add the relevant SMEs, and make sure they have access to edit questionnaires so they can answer.

Q: How do SMEs find their assigned questions?

A: SMEs use My Questions to see an overview of questionnaires that require their input, or by getting the email reminder.

Add Notes to Questionnaires

Questionnaire submitters, owners, and other collaborators can now add an optional note directly to a questionnaire to share context — such as deal details, special requests, or login information for portal-type questionnaires — with anyone answering or managing its lifecycle.

What's New

  • Add up to 500 characters of context as a note on a questionnaire.

  • Add the note in the app when creating or submitting the questionnaire, or any time after AIQA has processed it.

Notes: Now Generally Available to all customers using AIQA.

Multi-Product Questionnaires in AIQA (Early Access)

Security analysts can now answer one security questionnaire that covers multiple products in a single AIQA workflow, instead of running the same questionnaire more than once or manually merging separate answer sets.

What's New

  • Product-specific answers: Reviewers can see which answer applies to each product when responses differ.

  • Shared evidence: Global content can support every selected product, while product-assigned content provides product-specific context.

  • Original format: Completed questionnaires preserve the original file structure and the per-product breakdown.

Notes

  • Available now in Early Access. Reach out to your Account Manager to get access.

  • This feature applies to customers with multiple products configured.

  • For accurate, product-aware answers, organize your Trust Library in advance by tagging content as Global (applies to all products) or product-specific.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are multi-product questionnaires in AIQA?

A: They let analysts answer one questionnaire for several products in a single workflow, with product-labeled detail where answers differ.

Q: Can shared content support multiple products?

A: Yes. Global content can support all selected products, while product-assigned content provides product-specific evidence.

Q: What should I know before running one?

A: You can select up to 10 products, and the product scope cannot be changed after creation. Completed questionnaires preserve their original format, but answers are not currently able to be saved to the Knowledge Base for reuse.
