Overview

The Security Grades card helps organizations share third-party security ratings that reflect their external security posture.

To keep this information clear and comparable, the Security Grades card uses a standardized structure. Each card item represents a specific type of industry-recognized security grade, such as SecurityScorecard, RiskRecon, CIS Score, or BitSight, this enables viewers to quickly understand what each score represents.

Because of this standardization, the Security Grades card does not support custom items, and items cannot be moved to another card. Each item is tied to a specific grade type and follows consistent semantics to ensure clarity and reliability.

For the sake of this article, we are referencing the Security Scorecard item, but he concept is applicable for the additional items in the card.

Editing the Security Grades Card

  • Open the Trust Center Editor

  • Find the Security Grades card

  • Click Edit on the card

  • Click the edit icon next to the Security Grades item

  • In the Grades table, click the “+” icon to add a new grade

  • Enter the following details:

    • Name of the grade

    • Description (optional)

    • URL/Domain linking to the external scorecard or the company domain that's scored

    • (Optional) Link a document for evidence

    • Click Save

Note: Changes are applied immediately and will appear on the card. While users can adjust the visibility and order of Security Grades card items, they currently cannot be moved to another card.

Keeping grades up to date

Security Grades do not update automatically.

If an organization’s score changes in an external tool, users will need to manually update the corresponding card item to reflect the latest information.

Note: This is intentional by design.

There have been a number of times that changes to grading criteria by third parties have been changed without notice, drastically altering the third party rating / grade.

Our intention is to give customers a chance to review these changes instead of them being automatically displayed on the Trust Center.

Clearing a grade

To remove a grade from the table, delete the grade entry from the Grades table in the card item and save.
