Overview

The Multi-Product Trust Center is a single page that shows security, privacy, and compliance information for multiple products from your company.

Each product still has its own underlying configuration and content in SafeBase, but the Multi-Product Trust Center brings that content together and labels which products each pieces of content applies to.

The video below provides a quick demo of the new Multi-Product Trust Center experience.

Key concepts & terminology

  • Product – A specific product or service that has been setup in SafeBase

  • Section – A major part of the Trust Center layout. Examples include: Overview and Compliance, Documents, Cards / Trust Center Items, Subprocessors, Knowledge Base (FAQ), Trust Center Updates

  • Trust Center Card – A security / compliance topic area. Trust Center Cards are arranged in the grid on your Trust Center and include topics such as Risk Profile, Product Security, Data Privacy, Reports and Policies, etc.

  • Trust Center Item – A structured piece of content within a Trust Center Card. Examples include: Encryption at rest, SOC 2 certification, Incident Response, Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery, etc. Each Trust Item includes fields like description, maturity level, access level, and links to documents

  • Documents – Files such as SOC reports, pen test reports, policies, diagrams, and other evidence

  • Knowledge Base (KB) – Question-and-answer entries that explain details in plain language

  • Trust Center Updates – Short announcements about new certifications, changes in posture, or other important security communications

  • Base Product - A single product in SafeBase that is used to define some of the structure and layout elements on the Multi-Product Trust Center

Enabling The Multi-Product Trust Center

The Multi-Product Trust Center is in a closed alpha period. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager with the following information.

Once enrolled into the alpha, there are two pieces of information needed to enable the Multi-Product Trust Center:

  1. Which product(s) do you want to be available on the Multi-Product Trust Center?

  2. Which product do you want to elect as your base product? This product will be used to define structure and layout elements of your Multi-Product Trust Center.

Your Customer Success Manager will help you get everything configured as it cannot be done in the SafeBase UI today.

Product filters

The Multi-Product Trust Center has a left navigation that allows visitors to jump to the important parts of the Trust Center and launch important actions like search.

By default, “All Products” is selected but it also contains product pills that visitors use to filter all of the content on the Trust Center.

Selecting the Base Product

Even though visitors see a single page, its structural elements are based on the base product that has been selected for your organization.

The base product controls:

  • Trust Center section order

  • Trust Center Card order

  • Trust Center Card icons

  • Trust Center Card placeholder text

  • The name assigned to the Overview, Compliance, Trusted By, and Documents section (if they have been renamed)

  • Trust Center Item order

Other products drive the layout of the Multi-Product Trust Center only if:

  1. A Trust Center Card does not exist on the base product but does exist on other products. In this case those cards appear after the base product cards.

  2. A Trust Center Item does not exist on the base product but does exist on other products. In this case those items appears after the base product items.

  3. A Trust Center visitor unselects the base product from their filter selection.

If a Trust Center Section is hidden for all products it is not shown in the Multi-Product Trust Center.

How content is consolidated across products

The core principle of the Multi-Product Trust Center is that it automatically combines duplicate content across products instead of displaying the same content on the page multiple times.

Content in the Multi-Product Trust Center is first grouped by name. After content groups are created, SafeBase automatically determines whether there is identical content across multiple products.

Identical content is rendered once, with product tags that indicate what products it applies to. If there are different variations of content in the same group, SafeBase shows each variation to the Trust Center visitor.

Different content types follow the same consolidation rules, but there are some nuances that are important to be aware of, described below.

Overview card

The name of the Overview card is inherited from the base product.

The Overview text that is displayed on the Multi-Product Trust Center page comes from the base product.

Overviews from other products can be viewed by clicking into the Overview card.

Compliance Items

The name of the Compliance card is inherited from the base product.

The compliance badges that are shown are a de-duplicated list from across all of your products on the Multi-Product Trust Center.

The compliance items in the side drawer are consolidated only if a compliance item across products has identical:

  • Access level

  • Maturity level

  • Auditor

  • Description

  • Expiration date

  • Linked Documents

Trusted By Companies

The name of the Trusted By Section is inherited from the base product.

The companies that are shown in this section are a de-duplicated list from across all of the products on your Multi-Product Trust Center.

Trust Center Cards

Trust Center Cards are grouped by card name. If the card name across products is identical, the items within them will be grouped together and shown under a single card on the multi-product Trust Center.

Trust Center Items

Trust Center items are first grouped by item name. If the item name is identical across products, the item content will be grouped and may be consolidated.

Whether or not Trust Center Items are consolidated depends on whether the Trust Center Item content and metadata is identical. Some Trust Center Items have different metadata which means that the rules to consolidate them are a little bit different.

The consolidation rules are summarized in the table below:

Documents section

The Documents section is a unified list of document-linked Trust Items across all products.

  • Only Trust Items with at least one linked document appear here

  • If the same document item exists on multiple products, Trust Center visitors will see it once, with an indicator that shows how many products that document item applies to

Access rules

  • If a customer does not have access to the underlying documents, a lock icon will appear on the document item

  • If they have access to the underlying documents through at least one product, they be able to view and download that document

Featured documents

  • Items marked as "featured" for any product appear as Featured Documents on the Multi-Product Trust Center

Public vs Private

  • If a document item is public on any product, the document item will appear as public on the Multi-Product Trust Center

  • If all versions are private, it appears only for approved users.

Bulk download

  • Bulk download includes all documents that the Trust Center visitor has access to across all products

Knowledge Base (FAQ)

On the Multi-Product Trust Center, the Knowledge Base (FAQ) is a combined list of entries marked as public or private.. Each entry shows which product(s) it covers through the associated product badges.

Trust Center updates

Trust Center updates can be assigned to one or more products when written. When Trust Center visitors filter by product, they see updates relevant to those products (including any global updates that apply across all products).

Trust Center Search

Search works across products and respects permissions.

Search - Public Trust Center Visitors

Visitors who are not logged in have access to basic keyword search across public content:

  • Public Trust Items

  • Public Trust Center updates

The search results can only search one product a time. The Trust Center visitor can use the product dropdown in the search bar to change the product they are searching.

Search - Logged-in Trust Center Visitors

After being granted access, logged-in visitors see a richer search experience that includes:

  1. A traditional search results view

    • Lists relevant Trust Items, documents, Knowledge Base entries, and Trust Center Updates.

    • Searches through content for one product at a time and the user has the ability to change the product they are searching by using the product selector in the search bar

  2. AI-generated answers (if enabled by the organization)

    • Operates on a single product at a time. It generates an answer to a user query based on the content they have access to via their permission profile.

Questionnaires

If your Trust Center allows customers to submit security questionnaires directly:

  • Each questionnaire submission is associated with a single product

  • If a customer needs to assess multiple products, they submit a questionnaire for each product

Access levels on the Multi-Product Trust Center

Items and documents in the Trust Center can have different access levels.

  • Public – Visible to everyone, linked documents available without approval

  • Restricted – Item is visible to everyone, but access to documents required approval first

  • Restricted and hidden – Items and documents are visible only after approval

When the same item exists across multiple products, consolidation still respects access rules:

  • If a customer has access to at least one product’s version, they can see that item and the documents for that product

  • If they lack access across all products, the item may appear locked or may not appear at all, depending on configuration
