Overview
The SafeBase Slack Bot is used to send notifications about the following events:
Access Request
New User Subscribed
File Downloaded
Account Access Denied
Questionnaire Uploaded
It can also be used to search the Knowledge Base without having to login to the SafeBase app.
Installation
Setting up your Slack bot integration is easy and can be set up in 3 easy steps.
1. Click on Settings and scroll down to the Integrations section as shown below:
2. Click "Connect" next to Slack
3. Set permissions for the Slack integration and select a channel for notifications to be posted in. You may also choose to have the notifications be sent directly to a specified Slack user in a Direct Message (simply start typing the user's username). You will need a Slack admin approve the app at this step.
Note: By default, notifications will use @here
in the specified channel or DM group. Please see this article on how you can customize the users or user groups that get notified with our Slack Bot.
Authorizations required by our Slack app
Once the above steps are completed, you will see the Slack integration enabled and you are ready to go!
Slack Bot Integration in Action
This is an example of what your Slack bot will look like. You can easily approve or deny requests and see what documents have been downloaded from your Security Trust Center.
For searching the knowledge base, you simply have to type the command kb-search <SEARCH TERM>
to see the top results:
The top 3 results will be shown on each page. You can click on the Next button to see more results.
Upgrading the Slack integration
If you need to upgrade the Slack integration, DO NOT disconnect from the Settings area. Instead, have your Slack admin follow these steps:
Navigate to https://safebase-workspace.slack.com/apps and click on the
Manage
button at the upper right.Search for the
SafeBase Bot
app.Use. the Reinstall option to get the latest version of the app.
